Gerry Doerksen is the Founder and Managing Director of Client Insight Inc. which began operations in 2003. His passion to see businesses grow and succeed resulted in the formation and development of Client Insight Inc. Gerry’s curious nature and ability to listen and ask inquiring questions supports a key foundation of Client Insight, “we like to understand our client’s business before we interview their customers to gather feedback”. A deeper understanding allows us to probe and ask the right questions when customers become hesitant in their response. Gerry’s many years of business experience, his ability to analyze, see opportunities and set challenging goals, helps him move organizations to the next level.

Gerry is a Chartered Mediator with the ADR Institute of Canada. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Science from the University of Alberta specializing in Agricultural Economics.

Previous to starting Client Insight in 2003, Gerry worked in the Plant Nutrients Industry for 15 years in a diverse variety of roles. His early experience in the industry ranged from Sales, Business Planning, Environmental Stewardship, Logistics Planning and National Account Management. Gerry’s Sales tenure included Independent, Industrial, Specialty and National customers giving him a rich experience in managing and servicing customer’s needs. Mergers and acquisitions resulted in the Industry consolidating from 5 players to 3 players in the 1990’s providing management experience in organizational and cultural change. Agrium Inc. emerged as a result of the consolidation and Gerry was involved in Account Management & Business Process optimization in the years following.

Gerry has been involved as a volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society, The Kidney Foundation and the Alberta Diabetes Association and has served on the Executive of the Calgary Chapter of the American Society for Quality. He has also served on the Board of Directors for Camp Evergreen. Gerry currently volunteers with Volunteer Calgary and the Community Mediation Calgary Society. He has been a “Snow Angel” in his community since moving to Calgary in 1997.
Gerry enjoys reading, photography, golf and downhill skiing. His passion for travel has taken him and his family across Canada and to many destinations throughout North America, Europe, Africa, the South Pacific and the Caribbean. He lives in Calgary with his wife Donna, and their two teenage children.
